PBA Group’s Response to COVID-19

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve around the globe our thoughts are with those who have been directly impacted, especially in our tenant community. Over our 55 years of business we have weathered many storms, but we have never experienced circumstances quite like this before.  To say that these are challenging times is an understatement, and we realize the current situation has placed a significant burden on businesses, families, and individuals.

We are Open and Continue to Operate (UPDATED May 25th, 2020)

On March 27th, 2020 the Government of Alberta declared only Essential Services should operate. To further clarify, they have defined this as “businesses currently permitted to provide services at locations accessible to the public.” They have provided a list of these Essential Services and you can determine if you are an Essential Service by Clicking Here.

As PBA Group is considered an Essential Service under the Government of Alberta list, we continue to remain open and operate our business within our usual business hours. Following the World Health Organization’s containment and delay objectives and our government’s directives, we will continue to practice physical distancing for the benefit of our employees, tenants, and partners as well as the general public.

From March 17th to May 22nd, 2020 our employees worked remotely from their homes and only came into the office when necessary. Our head office was also closed during this time to visitors. These were temporary measures put into place to mitigate the spread of this virus for the health and safety of our employees and community. Our property management team remained available to our community to address any concerns our tenants or prospective tenants may have had.

Moving into Recovery (NEW May 25th, 2020)

Based on Phase 1 of the return to work program announced by the Government of Alberta, PBA Group is transitioning from working remotely to working physically at the office, starting May 25th, 2020. This phased approach has put our team’s health and safety at the forefront. We are and will continue to follow the guidance of the Government of Alberta, local health authorities, and the recommended best practices to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19. We have instituted office procedures and protocols to keep our team healthy and safe. As we adjust to being back at the office, we will evolve our phased approach to all our staff working at the office. However, we will remain agile to the changing situation and will adjust our working conditions as needed to keep our team healthy and safe.

Currently, we are restricting visitors to our head office. When we do have visitors, they will follow physical distancing protocols and all our safety procedures within the office. Please contact your PBA Group representative regarding visiting our office.

Available Resources

As a small local business, we are in the process of evaluating the changing landscape to gain perspective on what this situation means for our own business and our tenant community.  As the situation is changing rapidly, we are actively engaged in internal discussions and our own research to determine the path forward. We all have been inundated with a lot of information from our government while other resources have been made available to us from other organizations. It has been a lot to take in and digest which leaves us feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and fearful of what the future holds. Below we have provided the most vital resources from the government to help determine your own patch forward.
